I was given an ARC for a Honest Review.

Well Amy has done it again..Only this time with a totally different type of book!This is nothing like Amy's Mobster series.There are new characters,new romance,survival,Avalanches.Be prepared to fall in love with this Novella.Libby,Jill and Cassie set out on their yearly weekend snow adventure and literally run into Kyle,Randy and Alex.During an outing a storm blows in stranding them.Find out how they overcome the cold,the weather,found romance and throw in a crazy person lurking around.Will they survive this?
Amy has had me entrenched in her Mobster series so I was so excited to be able to review Frosted Over for her.Which is definitely not a mobster book.The characters reacted better then I would have had I been stranded. Amy has a way of writing that entrenches you in a story and keeps you begging for more.I want more Frosted over!Amy is such a wonderful author,I hope everyone enjoys Frosted Over as much as I have.I as always look forward to reading everything Amy writes

Nice suspense story!

I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I am a huge fan of Amy Rachiele from her Mobster series, and was excited to get a copy of Frosted Over for review. It was a very enjoyable novella, and my only complaint is that it could have been longer with some more details on the falling in love side.

Frosted Over is the story of three friends taking a weekend vacation to Mount Carter for a cross country ski trip. Libby, Cassie, and Jill have no idea what is really in store for them. A freak snow storm and an avalanche may not be their worst nightmares.

But there is a good side, too. They meet three guys, Kyle, Randy, and Alex, that might be their only salvation through the nightmare. This was a little too instant love for me, which is why I wish the story was extended a little to more of after escaping the storm, but it was still very sweet. The boys were definitely swoon worthy and doting.

This was a great quick story to read, and I look forward to future books by Amy.

In the manner of the Arabian Nights, Chiang wraps stories within a story, and all of them interrelate to argue that "the past and the future are the same." Not that past and future are identical, but that they stay the same and cannot be altered, even if one could journey back to the former or forward to the latter to change it. In medieval Baghdad, a merchant obtains an audience with the caliph to apprise him of a merchant-alchemist who has created doors between past and future. He relays the tales the door maker told him about a rope maker and a weaver who each ventured through a 20-year-spanning door more than once, and then the tale of the well-to-do man's wife who did the same—all before he imparts his own time-hopping adventure. Eventually, interconnections between the four stories surface, and they boggle the mind, more so, perhaps, than any of the tales of similar effect in Chiang's dazzling Stories of Your Life and Others (2002). Could fantasy be more intelligently exquisite and, ultimately and surprisingly, morally sound than this? Olson, Ray

Fantastical and thoughtful

I really enjoyed this noodly time-travel causality story. If it had been written with a more sci-fi setting, it still would have been good, but less fantastical. As it is, the middle-eastern, arabian-nights style setting adds an extra layer of interest.

The future has always been altered.

Read if: You like noodly paradox stories.

Skip if: You have an allergy to the exoticization of the near East.

Also read: Among Others for a similar feeling about time and cause.

Charming story about time travel

As with all of Chiang's work, this story is thoughtful, contemplative about its subject and empathetic to its characters. Please note, this is a short story, not a novel.
